Frequent Asked Questions

Below you can find some answers to common questions you might have regarding Spy Detect
  • My avatar is not showing up and it is replaced by the Spy Detect logo
The Spy Detect editor team spends a great deal trying to make your surfing experience as pleasant as possible. Among other safety features, we are suppressing all avatars that contain (i) explicit, adult or ilegal content; (ii) URLs embeded into the picture itself; (iii) offensive or vulgar displays. Every time an avatar is added to our database, it mass be first approved by our editor team. During this pending approval period, it will be displayed as the Spy Detect logo. Only after an avatar is approved, it will be displayed in clear. Also, if an avatar is updated with a different image it will go through the validation process again, time during which it will again be displayed as the Spy Detect logo.
  • I posted a comment, but my comment is not showing up yet
Just like avatars above, comments also must be approved by our editor team before they are actually show up. Among other safety features, we are surpressing all avatars that contain (i) explicit, adult or ilegal language; (ii) URLs embeded into the comment itself; (iii) offensive or vulgar language. As soon as your comment is approved by our editor team, it will be shown on the website.
  • The `Remove Yourself Tool` is asking me for my password. Is it safe?
This tool only asks for the password so that it can perform the actual remove-yourself process. Technicaly it is impossible to do that without the password. Spy Detect does not collect, nor store, any passwords. If for some reason, you consider this tool is not safe for you, please avoid using it.
  • Sometimes the status of the checked Yahoo! Messenger ID is not accurate
The status checker is a tool that involves a lot of the server resources. In order to avoid overload, the web server applies a filter that measures the amount of invisible checks that are performed during the last minute, the last hour and the last day. If your amount of invisible checks exceeds this safety filter, the result might, at some point, become inaccurate and only online/offline status will be returned. There is no specific amount of invisible checks you are limited to, as the real number involves a lot of parameters, including the time of day, concurrent checks, actual server load, etc.
Bottom line is that you should feel free to use the status checker tool as frequent as you would like to. Rest assured that the filter mentioned above was only developed in order to avoid spiders, bots, automations, or any non-human activities, therefore you will always have free access to our service.
